Retirement is meant to be a time to relax and enjoy yourself.
You worked hard all the years leading up to retirement and now you deserve to do whatever your heart desires.
Sounds great doesn’t it? Sure it does. Unfortunately, many people set their GOAL at RETIREMENT and forget that there is life AFTER retirement.
Making RETIREMENT your END GOAL leaves you hanging the day your retirement begins. What are you going to do with your time off?
Sure you are going to travel and do the things that you did not have time to do while you were at “work”, but eventually you are going to actually crave some of the things you did in the work world.
The leadership, the team work, the setting goals and achieving them are things that actually made your “job” fulfilling.
After a year into retirement, I found myself missing the stimulation of problem solving, learning new things, working with great people and feeling a sense of accomplishment.
I did not want to go back into the work force; but I did want to do something that would excite me and challenge me. I wanted my brain to still solve problems. I wanted to accomplish something.
In my work as a school principal, I earned good money; however, I did not work for the money. I worked for my students, my staff, my parents and my school community. My pay check was not upper most on my mind. Doing an excellent job of running my school was my first priority.
I am no longer responsible for other people’s success in the business world. I can now focus on my own success.
I can now look at spending my time earning MONEY, from the COMFORT of my HOME and have a BLAST while learning new skills.
I THINK THAT IS PRETTY AWESOME!!!!!
I FEEL THAT MY TIME HAS COME.
I WANT TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT 65 YEARS OF AGE IS A GREAT AGE TO START MAKING MONEY!
WHY NOT?????
Let me know what your thoughts are on your retirement options. I would be happy to hear your plans.
Hey Susan thanks a lot for such a great read.
To be honest I’m only 22 so retirement is still a loooongggg way to go. But I can understand what you’re saying somewhat. Our goals keep us alive and if we don’t find what we want to do we are just like an empty shell.
I think with changing times, people will start to realize that age doesn’t matter, in the online world anyone can fulfill their passion.
Thank you for your comment.
I totally agree, age does not matter in the on-line world. The internet is a world of total acceptance. There is no discrimination regardless of age, race, ability, education etc. It is a wonderful place. Maybe it is our “Heaven on Earth”.
I think I will write a blog on that topic!
Thank you, for reading my page.
Susan 🙂
Hello and thanks for sharing, when it comes to this kind of business it does not matter the level of training and all all of that other good stuff anyone can do it once they are willing. Your post is awesome, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your reflections on my page. I totally agree, there are no “resumes” needed in this line of work. It is fabulous!
